IÑIGO ALZUGARAY — PHOTOJOURNALIST

Freelance photojournalist based in Pamplona, specialising in daily news coverage across Navarra: from breaking news and politics to sports, culture, entertainment and live music.

With a degree in Journalism, I have the training and experience to approach every assignment from both a journalistic and visual perspective.

Throughout my professional career, I have covered all kinds of breaking news and events, including emergencies, accidents, fires and floods, as well as festivals, bull runs, traditions and popular celebrations throughout the year.

Alongside daily news coverage, I regularly cover major events such as the San Fermín festival, Holy Week, Christmas events, visits by the Spanish Royal Family to Navarra, the Flamenco On Fire festival, the San Sebastián International Film Festival (Zinemaldia), as well as major concerts and sporting events held at the Navarra Arena.

My experience also includes international documentary projects and coverage of social and humanitarian issues, with a particular focus on children and women.

I have undertaken long-term projects in Senegal, Myanmar and Laos, documenting a range of social, educational and healthcare issues, as well as covering the refugee crisis on the Greek islands of Lesbos and Chios.

Since 2016, I have regularly covered all Osasuna matches played at El Sadar in LaLiga and the Copa del Rey. I have also followed the team and its supporters to major matches away from Pamplona, including the 2016 promotion play-offs in Tarragona and Girona, and the 2023 Copa del Rey Final against Real Madrid in Seville.

I currently combine my work as an official photographer for the Government of Navarra with regular assignments for the regional news site Navarra.com, international photo agency Cordon Press and Alamy Live News.

I have extensive experience in selecting, editing and delivering images in real time directly from the field.
